Face to Face With Warden James |
As you may remember I created the DING! image, inspired by Jonny Coyne as Warden James and Jo from Inside Alcatraz. Jo took this one step further and asked me to create a poster sized version that she could print out and present to Jonny and to others that wanted one. So at Wonder con 2012 this picture was taken of Jonny holding himself :-) The picture was taken and tweeted by Steve Lilien @StevenLilien which made the whole experience even more special for me. Big thanks again to Jo for arranging this, Jonny for being fantastic as the Warden and the whole of the Alcatraz cast and crew for all their efforts on the show. Enjoy the season 1 finale this Monday in the US and see you next year for the next season :-) I also created some mobile phone versions and I have now updated these to the final image that was used for the picture. Click the link for the size you want, or right click and save the file. 640 x 960 (e.g. iPhone 4) 320 x 480 (e.g. iPhone 3) 480 x 800 (e.g. Windows Phone 7) |

Mr Papaya |
Inspired by Fringe and Walter Bishops love of food I created this design with Mr Papaya as the focus. You can purchase a version on Cafepress or Red Bubble You can also vote for it to be printed at OtherTees.com Click for a larger version |
Ding ! Alcatraz Warden James |
Warden Edwin James is fast becoming one of the best characters on the Fox TV show Alcatraz. Jo from the Inside Alcatraz blog mentioned, in her writeup for the episode Johnny McKee, that she would really like an image of the warden saying Ding as he had said this several times in the episode. So in a moment of late night inspiration I created this image for Jo, based of course on the Shepard Fairey Hope poster image. When Jo retweeted the picture I got several comments including one from Michael Eslinger (@Monteray_Mike), who is a real life expert on Alcatraz, saying he had used it as a phone background. So what I did was to create some versions of the image specifically for a few different mobile phone screens. Click the link for the size you want, or right click and save the file. 640 x 960 (e.g. iPhone 4) 320 x 480 (e.g. iPhone 3) 480 x 800 (e.g. Windows Phone 7) Finally a few hours later Jonny Coyne (@JonnyCoyneActor), who plays Warden Tiller on the show tweeted back to say, what else but - "Ding, Ding, Ding !" |
Bishops Hot Cinnamon Breakfast Cocktail |
Walter Bishop's new recipe, probably needs more butter ! |
Fringe Icons |
The good folk at MoreThanOneOfEverything.net/ have been running a campaign to persuade the US TV networks that Fringe is a fantastic show and needs a fifth season. To that end a series of successful social media events have been arranged and to help out I have created a few sets of icons that people can use to show their support. Click on each one to download the whole icon pack. #BeABetterMan #BreakingOut #TakeTheLead Unfinished idea for #ObserveItLive |

Qwertee 60 |
A few days ago, my Fringe, Reiden Lake Telecom design was accepted by Qwertee.com That means that in little over a year I have had 60 designs accepted by them Now all I need you to do is vote for the 59 designs that have not been printed by Qwertee ! |
Reiden Lake Telecom |
Reiden Lake seems to be the center of the Fringe events, so where better to set up a telecoms company by the observers who move through univereses like a hot knife through butter. The symbols are of course from the Observer communication device used to communicate between universes. I have added this design to the Fringe section of my Cafepress store Alternatively Click here to vote for this on Othertees.com or Click here to vote for this on Qwertee.com |
Diego On The Edge Of Forever |
Doctor Diego Soto, expert on Alcatraz, comic book store owner, and special advisor to the FBI. I'm not saying that this Star Trek method of time travel is how the prisoners from 1963 got to the present day, but it hasn't been ruled out yet :-) Click here to vote for this on Qwertee.com |
Baskerville Hounds |
What do you do to relax if you are a scientist in a top secret research facility ? Yes that's right join the Baskerville Hounds Deprehensio Societas Tweet me at @Zort70 if you know what that means Click here to vote on Qwertee.com |
Snips |
Anyone who is a fan of Star Wars: The Clone Wars will know that Ahsoka Tano is one of the main characters The facial markings combined with the Jedi symbol seemed to be the perfect fit for a t-shirt design. You can vote for this version on OtherTees.com or an alternative on a green t-shirt on Qwertee.com |
I.O.U. Sherlock |
Yes the latest series of Sherlock ended on a sad note, but all is not lost :-) (Click image for a larger version) Vote for this on Qwertee.com |
Fringe Lab Rats |
Walter normally has two helpers in his lab, Astrid and Gene the cow. That is of course if he remembers what Astrid's name is ! You can vote for this on Qwertee and Othertees.com |
Delicious Strawberry Flavoured Death |
Walter Bishop has a lot to say when it comes to ingredients and on a shopping trip discovers the ingredients of a Strawberry Flavoured snack. See the clip here This is now available to purchase on Cafepress You can also vote for this on Qwertee |
Resistance, the new DALEK drink |
DALEKs don't do drink adverts, but if they did..... This design also looks good in Orange or Yellow |
A Mummers Farce |
Tyrion Lannister from Game of Thrones / A Song of Ice and Fire is one of those people that plays will almost certainly be written about. Yes you are right you do detect a little Monty Python reference in the title and tag line. You can now vote for this design on Qwertee.com and OtherTees.com |
The Detectives |
Another new t-shirt design featuring links to Tintin. I had an idea about a charlie chaplin movie poster then thought that the moustache and bowler hat combination also applies to the two detectives from the Tintin books, so what if they were all in a movie together. The additional name is Rastapopoulos, who also appears in the books, and in Cigars of the Pharaoh is producing a movie, so it seemed logical for him to produce this as well :-) |
Haddock Shipping Company |
A new t-shirt design to coincide with the Tintin movie being released around the world, click for more details of the movie In the books Tintin meets the captain when he is the captain of a merchant ship, so this seemed like a suitable idea for a design. Click on the image to the right for a slightly larger version, and you can vote for this design on Qwertee.com, Othertee.com and hopefully soon on 4TEE.ES |
Laurel and Hardy Dig Doctor Who |
The video below is just a fantastic blending of old and new, I've watched it 10 times already and it makes me smile every time I see it. The video was uploaded by DALEK Thay who is a very funny DALEK to follow on Twitter. |
Sport is.... |
I've added a new design to my Cafepress store, Sport Is Not Just A Load Of... and Sport Is A Load Of, be careful which one you select when you go to buy one |
Save Doctor Who Confidential |
If you didn't know already the BBC in their infinite wisdom have decided to cancel the companion program to Doctor Who called Doctor Who Confidential. This show has been a great way to find out what happens behind the scenes and how the show is put together. It has been essential viewing since Doctor Who was bought back in 2004 and more than entertaining it was educational and sometimes inspirational, so it was a bit of a shock to learn it was being cancelled. Don't get me wrong I'm not sure I could watch another short excerpt on how the Cybermen are trained to march, but with a few tweaks and possibly a shorter running length it would still make an excellent way to wind down after a mind blowing episode and give the viewer some extra content for a minimal price. Anyway the point of writing this is that a group of people have got together to create a petition and coordinate the campaign to save the show. Sign up to the petition by clicking here and follow @SaveDWC on Twitter for all the latest news. |
