Nexus 7 Wallpaper Guide
I recently aquired a Google Nexus 7 tablet and the first thing I wanted to do to customise it was to create a wallpaper, an example of which is shown here.

On the surface it appears to be a complex job to do this as the positioning is difficult to get right.

So I created the template below to try and help others to do the same thing.

Click on the image to open the full size version (1600 x 1280 pixels) and save it to the place you will be creating your image from.

To use the template open it up in your preferred image editor.

I'm going to assume you have the ability to use layers, so make this the background or lower most layer and create a new layer on top.

Then simply put your image where you want to see it on screen.

The green area is the home screen in portrait mode, the yellow is the landscape home screen and the red area is any area to the left or right of the home screen.

I've also put elements of the interface that are non moveable and would otherwise obscure parts of your image.

There is also the standard lock screen numeric pad so you can avoid that area if you want to.

Once you are happy with your wallpaper simply hide the guide image on the background or lowest layer and save your image.

Transfer it to your Nexus 7 and then set it as the wallpaper, making sure you use the crop tool on the wallpaper screen to use the full image.

Jonny Coyne at Collectormania
At Collectormania 18 in Milton Keynes on Saturday (02/062012) I finally got to meet Jonny Coyne.

If you have been following me online you would know all about the DING poster, so when I knew Jonny was coming back to the UK I had to take the opportunity to say hello.

Jonny is a really nice person and was happy to chat about all sorts.

His next project is a western, where he will get to fulfill a hollywood dream and ride a horse !

I also gave him a printed copy of the Beauregard's vital fluid design and he said he will pass it on to Doctor Beauregard himself, Leon Rippy.

So finally is the really lovely tweet he sent out last night.

Save Alcatraz
The news that Alcatraz has not been picked up for renewal by the Fox TV channel is very annoying and frustrating.

So in order to do what we can to help another TV station or other broadcast medium know that fans of the show want more we have to make our collective voices heard.

There is a petition that people can sign - Click Here to sign

Also I have created these icons that can be used on the myriad of social media and other websites to show support.

Fringe Icons
As you may know I have been creating icons in support of the @Fringenuity campaign for a 5th season of Fringe.

I also designed a few extra icons for the @FRINGE__UK twitter chat events for the UK Fringe showing on Wednesday nights.

I decided that they ought to be gathered together in one place and decided that to help share the icons I'd create some mobile phone background images for everyone to download and use.

iPhone 4 - 640 x 960

iPhone 3 - 320 x 480

Other (Windows 7) - 480 x 800

(These images are free for anyone to download, however the only condition is that you do not alter the image or redistribute)

Queen Fan Club Convention 2012
Queen Fan Club Convention 2012 - The usual small selection of photographs from this years convention at Vauxhall Holiday Park in Great Yarmouth 27th - 30th of April 2012.

Be warned there is a large selection of a Scottish man on a stag night !

Talkin Toons
Talking of Rob Paulsen and his podcast - Talkin Toons

I decided that to give a little bit of thanks back to Mr Paulsen I would design this to help promote his Talkin Toons podcast

The main image is a vintage microphone and the motto around the outside is the phrase the podcast is always finished with.

So if you like cartoons or want to hear some interesting chat about voice actor work, or just want to listen to some very funny people chatting, then head on over and take a listen.

Pinky The Riveter
This idea was inspired by the voice of Pinky himself Rob Paulsen.

I have been listening to a few of his podcasts recently and was also looking around the web when I spotted the Rosie The Riveter image developed to boost morale during the war years

So armed with the two ideas I combined them and came up with this. Think of it as a small part of Brain's next scheme to take over the world.

You can vote for this to be put onto a t-shirt at Qwertee.com - please vote

Change Your World
Again in support of the @Fringenuity twitter campaign the hash tag this week was #ChangeYourWorld, and I decided on a revolutionary theme.

In case you need the link to Fringe just count digitally

To find out more about the campaign and see next weeks icons as soon as they are released go to the Fringenuity website

I also decided that fitting with the revolutionary theme the icons should be seen together as posters on a wall

Doctor Beauregards Vital Fluid
Another Alcatraz based design to show my love for the show.

This time featuring Doctor Beauregard and his "Vital Fluid" as he decants it from the prisoners in 1963 and in the present day is using it as a magical potion for what ails you.

I have uploaded this version to Qwertee.com - please vote

Where You Belong
In support of the @Fringenuity twitter campaign to get Fringe a 5th season I created these icons for people to use and display their support.

Just in case you are one of few people that doesn't recognise what this is, it was created as a homage to the Violet Sedan Chair logo.

To find out more about the campaign and see next weeks icons as soon as they are released go to the Fringenuity website

Face to Face With Warden James
As you may remember I created the DING! image, inspired by Jonny Coyne as Warden James and Jo from Inside Alcatraz.

Jo took this one step further and asked me to create a poster sized version that she could print out and present to Jonny and to others that wanted one. So at Wonder con 2012 this picture was taken of Jonny holding himself :-)

The picture was taken and tweeted by Steve Lilien @StevenLilien which made the whole experience even more special for me.

Big thanks again to Jo for arranging this, Jonny for being fantastic as the Warden and the whole of the Alcatraz cast and crew for all their efforts on the show.

Enjoy the season 1 finale this Monday in the US and see you next year for the next season :-)

I also created some mobile phone versions and I have now updated these to the final image that was used for the picture.

Click the link for the size you want, or right click and save the file.

640 x 960 (e.g. iPhone 4)

320 x 480 (e.g. iPhone 3)

480 x 800 (e.g. Windows Phone 7)

Renew Alcatraz !

The good people at
The Alcatraz Podcast have started a campaign called Rocks for Fox. I decided to see if I could help out by creating these icons, use them to show your support on whichever social media site you favour. Download a .zip file the whole pack of icons with more colour choices by clicking here
